Pre-Session
Consultation
Your experience begins well in advance of your session day. We will schedule a consultation a month or two ahead of time to ensure your session is both authentic & reflects your unique portrait goals. This consultation is filled with tips I’ve compiled over the years to help you feel confident and relaxed when you arrive for your session!

Retouching
There are no shortcuts to creating a beautiful portrait. In addition to the bright and clean edit my clients come to expect from me, your images will also be carefully retouched. This means that any day-of-the-session skin concerns will be corrected before you even remember they were there.

Services
I’m proud to offer an assortment of keepsakes to help commemorate your session, as well as offer you my expertise in design to assist with your selections. Some of my most treasured products are Portrait Albums, Metal and Canvas Wall Art, Standouts, Framed Prints and Graduation Announcements.

Edited Naturally. Retouching is a delicate art, and can often be overdone. I choose to work with a ‘two-week’ rule. If it won’t be a part of you in two weeks, Goodbye! Otherwise, natural is better… always.

When is the best time to schedule?
You will want to schedule around four or five months prior, however my June-October sessions are often full 6-8 months in advance. Additionally, I like to schedule your Consultation a month or two ahead of your session. This is so I can make sure you are on the right track as far as wardrobe goes, give you time to shop for those missing pieces, and ladies… ensure you have time to arrange your hair and makeup appointments.
Will you help me print my photos?
Absolutely! Between you and me, I’ve never understood investing so much for just an instagram post. Your memories deserve to live off your phone and I’m proud to offer an extensive line of portrait art to help make that a reality! Speaking of help, ALL Senior Sessions include an Ordering Appointment so you won’t be left to make these decisions from your own computer as you drift off to sleep.
When is the best season for outdoor portraits?
There is no ‘best’ time of year to schedule, but there are some things you should consider when choosing. Are you worried about a yearbook deadline? Do you like to dress more light or more layered? Do you have a season that is more full due to sports or activities? Many schools like to use your portraits for banners, programs or other Senior recognitions… so it is helpful if your session takes place before these begin.
Will you help with posing?
Of Course! You know, I was never asked this question five years ago. It was assumed that hiring a professional photographer meant we would help you pose naturally and feel comfortable. Now, I receive this question from almost everyone I work with! I’m not sure if it is social media induced or not, but you absolutely don’t need to know how to pose ahead of time. I will guide you every step of the way.
Who can join me during my session?
The answer to this question is totally up to you! My Seniors usually have a parent join in on the fun, but whoever makes you feel at ease and you would like to include is just fine. (yes, this means your dog can come along for the fun. Bonus if they will hop into a few shots with you) And truly, your ‘behind-the-scenes-team’ ends up being the best assistants, reflector queens, coat racks, personal stylists and DJs out there.
