2018 SENIOR

CIERA

Ya’ll, tomorrow is the first day of Spring. Seriously?!? Don’t get me wrong, I’m as ready as anyone to kiss this cold, never-ending Winter to the curb. Although… the official start of Spring means that Graduation season will be here before we know it. I have SO many super cool class of 2018 grads to recognize and SO few weeks remaining before those tassels rotate to the other side of the mortar boards.

Up next is Ciera. This girl is an all-around-super-cool beauty from McCool Junction, Nebraska. I first met her last Summer after her sweet cousin Sydney referred her to my studio. (Thanks, Syd!) Ciera is a triple sport athlete and had the fun idea of capturing her athletic shots on her home turf (so to say). I always try to encourage my seniors to choose locations that are meaningful to them. In Ciera’s case, that was most definitely the gym! Special thanks to mom and volleyball coach, Nicole, we had access to anything and everything we needed to create some pretty amazing shots!

After we wrapped the sports shots, we were literally both on a creative high! It’s always fun to get creative and experiment in a new space. That feeling was quickly squashed when we walked outside and noticed the sky had turned a desperate blackish-gray color. A typical Nebraska Summer thunderstorm meant we couldn’t finish the session that afternoon. So, we delayed the rest until we could meet up in Lincoln to wrap things up. It always feels like a major bummer when weather decides to get involved, but during the #lnk portion of the session, Ciera spotted a $20 dollar bill laying in the street. I think it was worth the wait!
