GABBY

Oh, Gabby. How is it possible for someone to look SO good while attempting to be serious? I say “attempting” because if you know Gabby, you know she will break into full on funny in a sweet millisecond. She would work into these gorgeous solemn looks and I knew that if I didn’t depress that shutter button immediately, the moment would be gone. She is a true redhead ball of fire.

Gabby often studies at The Mill and said it was one of her favorite haunts in LNK. They were so gracious to allow us a few moments to photograph in their space. (Photogs, always ask permission. It’s the kind thing to do and helps the reputation of our industry tremendously.) We were in and out faster than they could brew the cold chai tea latte Gabby’s mom was kind enough to order for me. Seriously, I have the best Moms.

Gabby had a ton of ideas for her session which is FAB! Most we incorporated, some we didn’t, but I love it when my seniors know a bit of what they are looking for during their session. We went sunflower hunting in really strange areas, chased down a trolley that was high up on her wishlist, she even painted the mug we used at The Mill herself! So many fun ideas.

Do you have some specific ideas or requests for your Seniors? Be sure to always share these with your photographer ahead of time! It’s a great way for our hamster wheels to start turning as we prepare for your session. I know with my sessions, if I don’t think an idea will work, or if I’m not sure my clients will be in love with a particular idea, I will chat about this ahead of time and explain the why. Sometimes its a location that is too far to get to, or where the light isn’t ideal at that time of day, but either way… just shout those ideas out! Time can go so quickly during a session, it is helpful to have a tentative plan before we head out the door and get snapping!
