When you see your images…

I want you to fall in love with the REAL you!

Let’s Get Real

Real for me is rocking last night’s hair and makeup. It’s laughing at myself when I talk too fast during sessions and make up words. (Squat + Sit = Squit) It is looking in the mirror and trying REAL hard to love the parts of myself I too often complain about.

After 15+ years of capturing portraits, I can count on one hand the number of times someone has said ‘I LOVE to be photographed!’ ONE. HAND. Letting someone photograph you can be a pretty vulnerable thing. And making my subjects feel comfortable is always my number one priority. We ALL have something we don’t love about ourselves, and we ALL are our OWN worst critic. It’s my job to guide you through these concerns to create a portrait that leaves you feeling sincere, inspired and confident!

Side Note

It ISN’T my job to overly retouch and filter you into a different version of yourself.

We only get 18 summers with our kids at home…

THEY ONLY GET 1 SENIOR YEAR.

Senior pictures already?

I’m feeling all the feels right along with you. My son graduated in 2019, and my daughter in 2021. As a Mom, I understand that offering a suggestion regarding wardrobe will often result in an overly exaggerated eye roll. I get that you may not share an opinion on location with your Senior… or even that college visit that’s coming up!

It’s a-ok that you two could be looking for something completely different! My seniors are most excited about the candid portraits that reflect their personalities and interests. They live for the little squares on the gram that highlight their #seniorsunday feeds. For us… it’s about capturing those authentic expressions and preserving the memory of this milestone.

We are going to check all those boxes and more! And, because I can relate to how crazy-busy this year can be… I’ll help you cross a few more things off those to-do lists as well.

Fun Facts

My first camera was a Kodak Pazzazz. It was a gift to document a road trip that included my Dad, Step-Mom and 4 kids as we crossed 8 states in 2 weeks in a Minivan (my parents were brave). Instead of using the camera, I spent the majority of the trip serenading everyone with my fourth grade recorder.

My bachelor’s degree is in Music (nope, not Photography). I had the raddest senior flute recital you’ve ever heard. I’m guessing you have nothing to compare that to so you’ll have to trust me.

I LOVE to create. Oftentimes with a camera, less often in the kitchen. Between daylight savings, you might find me creating on a stage. I’m a closet choreographer.
