2018 SENIOR
MICHAEL
During my senior consultations, I often ask my clients if they have any hobbies or interests they are hoping to incorporate into their session. Sometimes the answer is yes, but most often the answer is a hesitant ‘maybe,’ followed by an ‘if it isn’t too cheesy.’ I get it, truly. I myself stood between a giant white number ‘95’ and a wooden cutout of a (hand-painted) Herbie Husker. I went to high school in Iowa. The Herbie thing was a big deal. Cheese with a side of parmesan. I’ve known Michael for a few years and knew that soccer was a big deal. When I asked about incorporating this into his session, I sensed a firm ‘maybe’ on his face. I promised no cheese. Or in soccer terms, no kneeling center field, hand palming the ball placed on the ground next to the kneeling cleat as the photographer says, ‘Say …’
