Dance Photography

Photographing dancers is a collaboration…

Your energy fuels the image. I bring over a decade of experience and a readiness to improvise: shifting angles, shifting light, shifting with you… until we capture that perfect expression of who you are.

Dance photography is MORE than motion.

It’s where movement meets MEANING!

LET’S MOVE  together.

one

Individuals

One dancer. One location. One beautifully efficient session. The Artistic Mini Session was created with the dedicated artist in mind. It’s perfect for fresh headshots, audition images, and scroll-stopping content. It’s quick, simple, and completely personalized to highlight your style and strengths. You bring the movement; I’ll handle the rest.

Teams

This session is all about your team! Whether your jam is dance or cheer, we’ll capture the energy, connection, and confidence that makes your team the Spirit filled group it is. From clean shots for banners to bold images for social, and all the laughter in between… this option is perfect for school teams, competitive studio and dance company teams.

Recitals

Dance recital portraits are one of my favorite things to photograph. I love the energy, the excitement, and even the high-volume hustle. We make the process easy, from posing with proper technique to smooth, stress-free ordering. If you’re a dance studio owner looking for a dance-savvy, full-service photo team, let’s chat about next year’s recital dates.

Artistic Mini Session

An Artistic Mini Session is short, simple, and created with intention. Perfect for updated headshots, stylized poses, or audition materials, this 15–20 minute session includes 5 digital images and just the right amount of time to capture something bold, clean, and beautifully you.

Tutus & Teamwork

From recital portraits to team sessions, I offer high-volume dance photography that’s organized, efficient, and technique-focused. My team & I handle everything… posing, ordering, and communication, so you can focus on the performance. And, I’m available to travel to you if needed. Interested in next season’s dates?

I am so grateful to you and your talent spanning all of these years.

I put together a Nutcracker book for Liliana‘s senior year, and I used the photographs I bought from you throughout! I wanted say that I am so grateful to you and your talent spanning all of these years with Recital Portraits, Dance Team, The Nutcracker, Senior Portraits and everything else… You are truly the best!

We are thankful for Jennifer, her friendship and her talent every year!

Creative, graceful, expressive, joyful! For over 10 years, Jennifer has taken our dance pictures and each picture shows all of this and more! Our dancers are comfortable with her and always so excited to work with her! Not only does she capture the perfect moments, she is also so organized. She prepares each year by revisiting years past on what worked well and what needs tweaking. She is easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Our picture week could be stressful and chaotic, but she helps everything run so smooth! We are thankful for Jennifer, her friendship and her talent every year!

Jennifer’s dance expertise enables her to capture stunning motion in her photos.

Jennifer’s dance expertise enables her to capture stunning motion in her photos. She always makes my daughter ‘the dancer’ feel confident that her desired pose was captured. A portrait captured at the wrong moment can look great to a photographer who doesn’t understand dance, but it really bothers a dancer if the technique is poor. Jennifer always gives the time and opportunity to capture their pose at the ‘perfect’ point of execution!

She has vast experience with dancers…

As a mom of several dancers, I can always trust Jennifer to get the best images of my girls. She has vast experience with dancers and knows exactly the right way to position their head, legs, fingers, or whatever it may be to get the perfect shot. She also gives suggestions for poses, which I love!

Will you help with posing?

This is one of the most common questions I get, and honestly, it never used to be. (thank you, social media?) I love when my dancers arrive with favorite poses in mind, but some of my favorite images come from spontaneous creativity. With my own dance background and years of experience in technique-specific posing, I’m able to adjust your execution so you feel confident, comfortable, and at your best in front of the camera.

Where is my session captured?

Great question! And, one that depends a little on your vision. Most sessions are captured in my studio, where I have full control over lighting, backdrops, and space to move. But if you’re dreaming of something outdoors or a little more personal, I do offer on-location options for a small additional fee. Let’s chat about what feels most like you.

When is the best time to schedule?

Timing is everything. Especially when you need images for auditions, publicity, or program features. I recommend scheduling your dance session at least two weeks before you’ll need your final images in hand. That gives us time for selecting, editing, and any extra polish you might need. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out and we’ll find a timeline that works.
